Adaptive Reuse Interior Project. We collaborated on transforming a former warehouse in Nairobi’s industrial area into a vibrant co-working hub and innovation center. The project involved architectural modifications and a complete interior fit-out. We retained the industrial charm (exposed beams and brickwork) while adding modern amenities: private meeting pods, acoustic wall panels made of PET felt for noise control, creative lighting, and ergonomic furniture. We also incorporated local art and recycled materials (like wooden pallets repurposed into decor) to give the space a unique identity.
For a boutique resort on Kenya’s coast, we designed a series of tensile shade structures to enhance guest comfort and the resort’s aesthetic appeal. These included large free-form shade sails over the beach bar and lounge area, and stylish parasols around the pool deck. Each structure was designed to withstand the salty, windy coastal environment – using stainless steel fittings and a PTFE-coated fabric that resists mold and UV damage. The shapes of the canopies mimic ocean waves, tying into the seaside theme.
Modern Office Interior Design & Build. We completed a full interior fit-out for the new headquarters of a leading financial services firm in Nairobi’s Upper Hill district. The project involved 20,000 square feet of office space, designed to embrace a modern open-plan concept with dedicated collaboration zones and executive offices. Our scope included space planning, interior design, custom joinery, MEP works, and furniture supply. We integrated acoustic panel solutions in open areas to reduce noise, installed energy-efficient LED lighting, and used a warm contemporary color palette that reflects the company’s brand.
We were commissioned to design and build an elegant tensile membrane pavilion for the prestigious Serena Hotels chain. The pavilion – dubbed the “Hall in the Garden” – serves as an outdoor banquet and events space. We created a sweeping fabric canopy supported by a steel cable system, covering a large area while maintaining an airy, open ambience. The structure provides all-weather protection (shielding guests from strong sun and sudden rain) and blends with the lush garden surroundings.
